656-B booklet
I am attempting to submit an OIC (Offer in Compromise) for my 2023 returns. I went through the eligibility tool. At the end of that process, I am referred to 656-B which is supposedly a booklet containing form 656 and instructions etc. The link from the IRS referring to their own booklet is broken. If I search for 656-B on the IRS site, it leads to a Spanish version of the form but not English. If I go to form 656 there's a warning stating that it's not a stand-alone form, that the form is for tax professional use only!! Can anyone shed some light? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info. but I don't know if I should really go that, unofficial route and run into issues down the line, esp. when the 433-OIC / 656 is 32 pages long! (could the IRS have made this process any more difficult?🤔).
Why would they cause further confusion by saying it's for tax professionals' use only - it's baffling: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f656.pdf.
Thanks for the help😊

The link I gave you was for the 656-B (BOOKLET) which is what you asked about. The 656 form (not -B) itself is for professionals. The booklet is for the applicants and includes the 433 form you need to fill out. Read the instructions in the booklet. You're going to have to fill the form out for the OIC process; the linked form is PDF fillable, at least.
