portion of my income registered to my old state after I filed...

after I filed both federal and IL tax return, I realized about $17000 income registered to MN and I had MN W-2 with $13 witheld. I lived and worked my whole year in IL, but my company told me that I did change my residency until 3-29. I need to file another state return with MN, I was told to create another account to file MN only. once I created new account, there was no option for me to file state tax only. do I need to amend my IL return since my whole income is taxed in IL. I need to know how to avoid being taxed both state, and file state return MN only. Thanks

I think if you're not going to file a federal return, on that new account you made, you'll have to choose to print it out and mail it. Pretty sure that's the only way to file a state only return.
