Points not reported on 1098 issue
I have two 1098s both for my main home (1 mortgage and 1 heloc). When I go to enter the info for amortizing my points over the life of the loan it take me to a “Tell us more about each loan shown below” page and there are 3 spots for bank/lender info .. I don’t have 3 lenders to put in (only 2… one heloc and one mortgage) so it stops me from moving forward. Any assistance is appreciated. Balance of both loans together is under $500k so I know I am not over the $750k limit. And can deduct the amount… not sure if there is a bug though in the software.

Maybe this answer could help you. Or does it let you delete one of them when you get to the summary screen?

If knittingfun’s answer didn’t help you resolve your issue, I would recommend that you contact customer support so they can view your account and see what is going on. It may be that something was omitted or marked by accident and that is why three mortgages are appearing.
