Since I had to change to mailing my state taxes, there was no indication that the payment that I had already added, was not going to process.
This is not acceptable, as now my payment to the state is late.

Making sure you have the right information for each situation is important to us. Making the switch to mailing tax returns requires you to change your method of paying the owed taxes. Here is an alert that has to do with this change:
You can only use direct debit if you e-file your return. Since you are mailing your state return, your tax owed will NOT be paid by direct debit even though you entered information for it. You'll need to pay your tax owed using a different option. Please go back to the State Direct Deposit / Direct Debit Information screen and choose another payment method.
