I had to replace plumbing lines, curbstop, water valves, all outside and inside my home to bring them up to code and repair including copper pipe. This required replace part of my sidewalk too (all private property). Is there any credit or deduction that I can take for this?

Unfortunately, if this is your main home, these expenses cannot be deducted, nor is there a credit that can be claimed.

If these improvements were made to a rental property, these expenses can be included on your schedule E for the property to reduce your total rents received.
