I don't see HSA Deduction in the "Other Deduction" pull down in 2025 version

Question

I got this instruction online

"To claim your HSA deduction within the software, navigate to the following menu path:

Deductions/Credits > Other Deductions/Credits > Health Savings Account (HSA)."

I did not see HSA in the pull down on the 2025 version of FreeTaxUSA.  Does it depend on the entry of the W-2 or form 5498-SA ?  I don't have the W-2 yet and I'm trying to enter the key amounts I know and trying to max out my tax bracket but this software is not cooperating.  Is it because I'm using the "free" version of this software ? Is it a software bug ?

Welcome to the community. Doing some pre-tax preparation in November to maximize your deductions is smart!

There isn't a bug, but there may be some limitations as this is the pre-launch software.

When you first start your account and start entering your data, keep in mind that you are unable to skip ahead from the Income menu to the Deductions/Credits or Misc menu.  We design the software like this, so you are taken step by step in the software to avoid missing things and to expose you to all the options. Then by the time you get to the Summary menu, you can use the menus to navigate back or forward to finish completing your return.

To navigate to the Deductions/Credits > Other Deductions/Credits > Health Savings Account (HSA) section, continue with the interviewed until you get to the Other Deductions section. Then enter the data you have by going to the Health Savings Account (HSA) pages.

When you finally get your W-2 and other forms in 2026, you can use the menus to navigate the tax software.

Just a guess here.

That part of FTU plus other areas may not be ready yet.

There will many updates before anyone can e-file in January.

Maybe a FTU mod will also answer this question for you.
