Turbo Tax 1040 Would not Import
My pdf copy of my 2024 form 1040 would not import. Not really a big deal because I can enter the income & deduction sources manually. My TurboTax forms were in a single file. I made separate files of the 1040 and 540 forms. The file I attempted to upload was the 1040 file. Since I have entered the personal info for our 2025 return. I assume that I will have to enter the rest of the prior years info manually?

Hi Tio5ant,
The prior year pdf may only be imported when you create a new account. If you did that and it did not import, then there was some other issue.
When that happens you just need to enter your personal information and current 2026 forms. When you get ready to file, you will need your prior year Adjusted Gross Income for an e-file signature. There may be some carryover information from 2024.

Thanks, Matthew. I did start an account and completed the personal info section. Due to the way FreeTaxUSA filing procedure is setup it looks like I will have to wait until I have all the supporting documents to start on the rest of the return. The procedure being used does make sense though.
