on W2s it’s showing I qualify for child tax credit. When I’m finishing up to submit refund, it’s not showing on my total refund amount. Why?

Hello Dez,
The Child Tax Credit is likely being applied to your return, but it may not be increasing your refund in the way you expect.
The Child Tax Credit is a nonrefundable credit, which means it reduces your tax liability (the amount of tax you owe) but can only bring it down to $0. It won't add to your refund unless you have tax liability for it to offset. There are several other qualifications for this credit including the number of qualifying dependents and their age, as well as income thresholds where it phases out.
