Why my return keep being rejected and I used the same exact information last year.

My return keeps being rejected by IRS saying that the social security numbers and the names do not match. I have been filing the same information for more than 10 years. The only difference is my oldest was on my return last year and I wasn't including him this year. I was not going to include him this time, but because they keep sending the return backI included him to see if it would go through this time. I am so frustrated. I need to talk to someone.

    You can log into your FreeTaxUSA account and contact us from there so a support agent can look over your tax return and determine the issue. They can help you address the cause of the IRS rejection and hopefully get it resolved.

    If the tax return was rejected due to a mismatch of the Social Security number and name, adding someone to the tax return would generally not resolve the rejection.
