Placed an order (did not submit or send returns yet) and want to cancel or modify it.

Hi. I placed an order for BOTH Federal and State tax returns but did not submit or send returns yet.

However, now I want to cancel or modify my order to only submit / send the Federal tax returns with FreeTaxUSA. I will use FreeTaxUSA to send the state tax returns at a later date.

How can I do this?

    Hello rh4444,

    You have a couple of options:

    1. Select your state return to be mailed and only e-file your federal return. You can then come back later and unlock your state return to e-file later when you are ready.

    2. Contact customer support and ask for a refund for your state return. It will likely take 3-5 business days to go through, but if your refund request is approved you should be able to e-file your federal right after.
