in After you file

I filed a 1040 instead of 1040NR, the return is accepted and i did receive a state refund, but my federal is still being processed. Should i wait till it is completely processed and refunded or can i amend it now?

    Hello Kha,

    A Form 1040 cannot be amended to a Form 1040NR. What you need to do is file a Form 1040NR and attach your original Form 1040 and include a letter to the IRS of your error.
