Are you talking about the IRS IP Pin?
If so see this post.
Also see this from the IRS.

Hello Bouba! There are two different types of PINs that are associated with e-filing a return:
1. Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN) This was addressed by JLFTUFreeForum. An IP PIN (Identity Protection PIN) is a six-digit number issued by the IRS to help protect your Social Security number from being used to file a fraudulent tax return.
2. Self-Select PIN. This is a 5-digit number that you create yourself when you e-file. This PIN it can be any five digits except all zeros, and it serves as your electronic signature on the return. This is likely the PIN you are referring to as this is assigned each year when you e-file a return.
To e-file this year, you'll need to verify your identity using one of two things: either the same 5-digit Self-Select PIN you used last year, or your prior year Adjusted Gross Income (AGI), which is found on line 11 of your 2024 Form 1040.
When you get to the filing step in our software, you'll be asked to create a new 5-digit PIN for this year's return and confirm your identity with one of the options above. It's a good idea to write down your new PIN and keep it somewhere safe, as you may need it again next year.0 -
Thank you so much, I really do not want to print anymore . All I want is being able to e-file directly to IRS so the 5 digit pin is provided by freetaxusa?? how about IDME, just applied and send them all document to be approved , I am waiting for their email. I need your input again thanks Bouba

Hello Bouba,
If you would like to e-file this year, you will need to verify your identity using either:
1) The 5-digit Self-Select PIN you created last year when you e-filed(it can be located in the account you e-file from)
Or
2) Your prior year Adjusted Gross Income (AGI), which is found on line 11 of your 2024 Form 1040
If you have been issued an IP PIN by the IRS, this IP PIN will be entered in the MISC section of the software in addition to using one of the verification forms I listed above.
If you got an IRS notice to verify your identity and tax return, then you will use the IDME they requested. You will only use the IDME verification if the IRS sent you a CP5071 series notice or letter 5447C. If this is the case, please follow the instructions the IRS provided for you.0 -
I will expand a little on the ID.me log in access to the IRS.
Just in case you have not seen this about accessing the IRS online.
It gives you lists what you can access. One thing to note is that if you do get the IRS IP Pin you have to get a new one each year via the web site. I do believe that it will not be mailed.
If you owe taxes you can pay within that site also.
IRS IP Pin FAQAs a side note the Social Security web site also uses ID.me.
