    i was notified that i was claimed as a dependent on someone elses tax return how do i find out who

    Hello Boonekyle1989,

    The IRS does not tell us who claimed you as a dependent, just that you have been claimed. Usually, it ends up being a family member, so I would recommend that you ask around if you haven't already.

    Also, make sure your SSN is correct on your account. That may be the problem.

    If no one should have claimed you on their tax return, you can still file. You will just need to mail in your return instead because the IRS's e-filing system will continue to reject your return otherwise.
