Why there is no box 8 in form 1099-DIV?

in Filing my taxes

Box 8 "Foreign Country or U.S. Possession", which is present on my 1099-DIV pdf, is missing in the editable 1099-DIV form. There is a box 7 and 9, but there is no box 8. Box 8 on my 1099-DIV form is not empty and contains the name of a foreign country.

    Because it's for informational purposes and doesn't affect your tax return. If you have a lot of Foreign Tax Credits from multiple countries, you may need to file Form 1116 in which case you might need that information. But if you're just claiming a small amount (<$300/$600) from a 1099-DIV, it's not a required entry.
