    Hello Sheena! Unfortunately, once your return has been accepted by the IRS, the bank account information on your return cannot be changed. This applies both in our software and on the IRS's end. The bank account details are submitted as part of your tax return, so there is no way to update them after acceptance.

    If the IRS is unable to deposit the refund into the account on file (for example, if the account is closed or the bank rejects the deposit), they will automatically mail a paper check to the address listed on your return.
