If I've spent most of the year abroad do I still need to file taxes the same way I did it when I was living a full year in the U.S.?

    Yes, as a resident of the USA, you are required to file a tax return if your total worldwide income is above the filing threshold. See the IRS interactive assistant and see if you need to file. https://www.irs.gov/help/ita/do-i-need-to-file-a-tax-return

    Just keep in mind, that our software does not currently support the form needed to report foreign earned income and you may need to use another tax service.
