MFJ, Didn't marry until end of the year, lived in same state but different school districts
Hello All,
My wife and I got married December 20th, 2025. While engaged/dating, we both lived in Ohio, but we lived in different school districts. It doesn't seem that FreeTaxUSA supports two full-time residencies in different school districts if you are MFJ. Since she didn't move in with me until January—after the honeymoon—she was a full time resident in her school district (and I, of course, was also a full time resident in my school district). Is there a way to file separately for school district but still file jointly for state return since we both lived in Ohio?

The OH School District SD-100 form requires listing each individual and the district they lived in with dates separately. However, when filing Married Filing Jointly, overlapping dates are not supported in our software.
You may need to delete the School Districts from the return (State > School District) and file both by mail:
