IRS rejected mine (jointly done w/ wife) saying that 'Prior Year AGI or PIN doesn't match'!

The IRS rejected my tax filed saying 'Prior Year AGI or PIN doesn't match the IRS records'. My last year's AGI exactly matches with what 1040 in 2024 says (with my wife having no income in 2024 or 2025). There is no area/section that I can put my or my wife's PIN in current freetaxusa format (except for creating a new one for this year which comes at the end). Literally there is no way that I can change any info. Does anyone have similar issues? Thanks!

Hi,
This is a common rejection for married filing jointly returns and there are a few different reasons it can happen. It could be a simple AGI mismatch, but it can also be caused by something like a name change or an ITIN-to-SSN change for your spouse between last year and this year, which would prevent the IRS from matching the prior year AGI on file.
Since there are a few possibilities here, the best next step is to log in to your account and reach out to our team through the Support Center so we can look into the specific details of your rejection and point you in the right direction.1 -
Thanks a lot! I will connect to support center during daytime.
