Where can I enter my 529 contribution?

I'm finishing up my 2025 taxes and I am making a 529 contribution that is deductible in South Carolina. But unlike last year, I'm not seeing any place in FreeTaxUSA to enter my contribution. The deductions/credits section never asks about it. Where should I enter this?

    Hello brg,

    You can deduct the 529 plan from SC under the SC state tax section, since it is a state deduction, not a federal deduction that would be under Deductions/Credits.

    When you get to the SC state section, go to SC Subtractions from Income, and then there will be a question for the SC state's 529 plan contributions:

    Contributions to College Investment Program
    Enter the amount of any South Carolina College Investment Program or South Carolina Tuition Prepayment Program contributions that you made during 2025

    You can click the question mark to see what SC state-specific 529 plans qualify for the deduction.
