Loss of records?
Hi. I have an email saying my 2025 tax return has been accepted, but when I log onto the website there is no record of my 1040 papers like there are for previous years and when I click Check 2025 Return Status it tells me my federal return has not been filed. I need the documents to purchase a house. help?

First make sure you used to correct user ID and password.
If you still do not see it them you can get copies of your returns by going to IRS web site.
If you have not created a log in for the IRS site you will have to create one.
Juts a note. When you finalize and efile a return always print a copy or at least save it as a PDF on your computer and then you can also print it out when you need it later.
If you still do not see it after all this log in to you account and do a Chat with support.

I was on the phone with the IRS for 40 minutes a few days ago and they only provide the transcripts. The underwriters for the lender don't want transcripts. They want the 1040 return sheet that is supposed to be provided by FreeTaxUSA. I've confirmed I filed on this account, and I have email documentation to back that. I can accesss my 1040 Return records from 2021 up to 2024, but 2025 is not available. I'm not sure if it was human error or what the issue is, but the records just aren't there, and they are the most important ones for me to be able to purchase a house.

Hi Darwin,
Sounds like you may have two conflicting pieces of information you're looking at.
FreeTaxUSA sends an email to the email address of record when a tax return is accepted at the IRS. If you have that acceptance email from FreeTaxUSA, then your return was filed, accepted, and is available for you to print in your account.
If you also have an account that shows your 2025 tax return was not accepted, that tells me you have two accounts. To retrieve all account usernames go to our homepage and click Support > Forgot Username or Password. Login to the correct account and you can print your originally filed tax return.
