How do i delete dependent on amended tax return using free tax usa site

    Thanks for joining our Community and writing in with your question.

    If you filed your original tax return with FreeTaxUSA, you can return to your account and choose the option to amend your return. Our software will walk you through the prompts to get started.

    Follow this menu path: Personal > Dependent information > delete

    If you filed your original tax return on another platform or with a tax professional elsewhere, you'll first need to recreate your originally filed return in our software. You won't file it, but the platform must have information to amend.

    Once created and finalized via "mail my return" (you don't actually mail the return) you'll have access to the amendment function.
