So I still haven’t received my tax return for 2022 I have a tax advocate who is helping me locate my return Should I file for 2023 return if I don’t receive 2022 before the upcoming tax season

    I'm sorry to hear of your struggles in obtaining the 2022 refund! I hope the advocate can locate the refund.

    Generally, the delay of a prior year's refund won't affect the filing of your current year's return. Thus, unless instructed by the advocate or the IRS to wait on filing your 2023 return, you may file it even before receiving your 2022 tax refund.
