Will I be able to get a refund on my charitable this year?

Last year I did not get credit for my charitable donations, my understanding was it was no longer accepted. Thank you

    It depends on if you take the standard deduction or if you itemize your deductions. There was a special rule for 2020 and 2021 returns that allowed you to deduct a portion of your donations even when taking the standard deduction. But it is back to the normal rules for 2022 and later, which is that you can deduct up to 60% of your AGI in charitable donations if you itemize.

    Whether or not you itemize depends on what will give you the highest deduction. Our software asks you to enter all of your itemized deductions into the software and then it will determine if it's best for you to take the standard deduction or itemize.
