Do I get a mileage deduction?

I am food delivery driver working full time for independent restaurant. Every year put at least 30000 miles on my personal car. Since 2018 no longer able to deduct those miles due to the law change! So what can I do???

    It is true that following the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act most employees are no longer able to deduct employee business expenses. You may want to consider discussing reimbursement options with your employer since you cannot take the deduction on your return.

    Hello,

    As of right now, there isn't a deduction for unreimbursed job expenses if you are an employee. You may be able to request an reimbursement from your employer to help cover your expenses. But the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act removed that unreimbursed job expenses deduction for now so there is nothing to claim.
