IRS will begin accepting and processing 2023 tax returns January 29, 2024

The IRS announced it will begin processing 2023 tax returns on January 29th. However, several states have yet to update or complete their state tax return filing requirements.
You may file your federal tax return beginning January 29th and come back to file your state return when your state is ready to accept tax returns.
