When will FreeTaxUSA be available to start filling in my 2023 return?
I think I'm gonna have a big refund this year. How early can my return be sent out?

That is a great question! Every year FreeTaxUSA launches their tax preparation software, for the coming year, in early November. That gives early birds like you a chance to do a little tax planning. For example, this is a great time to review your IRA contributions and make conversions to Roths. It's also a great time to review your 401(k) contributions and add any before the last paycheck of the year. Of course, there are other advantages to getting an early start!
Then near the end of January, the IRS will start up e-file for the current year and your returns can be e-filed at that time.
Also, by law, tax return with certain credits like the earned income tax credit and the additional child tax credit cannot be processed until later in February.
