Hello, I am trying to claim a tax credit for a new electric heat pump in my home. I went through the menus and inputted a cost. I expected free tax to show 30% up to $2,000 as a credit but I get Home Energy Credit

$0

View Form 5695 if you want to see how the Home Energy Credit was calculated.

I have tried playing with smaller test values, but nothing. It will recognize solar cells and other devices but not Electric Heat Pumps or the upgrade to the electric for the heat pump

I inputted $ for and energy audit and it didn't show that either

I figured this out. The energy credit amount is capped at the income tax line #16 on form 1040. so if this is zero, no energy tax credit for electric heat pump
