    This is a good question. The business code is a general classification for your individual business activities. That being said;

    722300 for Accommodation, Food Services and Drinking Places: Special food services

    OR 492000 for Transportation and Warehousing: Couriers and Messengers

    are appropriate choices to make for your category code for these two activities

    Hi, I'm trying to fill out Schedule C but I only have my tax summary from Uber (I didn't make enough money to qualify for their 1099). I'm trying to figure out how to log the expenses section. I put the sales tax under Administrative Expenses > Taxes and Licenses, but I'm not sure what to do about the Uber service fee?

    Table 1 - Expenses, Fees, Tax and Reimbursement

    Uber service fee/other adjustments*

    Sales tax and other taxes*

    TOTAL EXPENSES, FEES, TAX AND REIMBURSEMENTS

    Thank you for this reply.

    There are Miscellaneous lines at the bottom of the Common Expenses page. You can type the title of any expense you have that can't be categorized in the items listed on the General Schedule C.

    This is the place to title Uber Service Fee and add the amount to the box to the right of that line.

    Thank you so much for the quick reply! I just have a couple more questions:

    1. If I did DoorDash, UberEats, and Grubhub, do I link them all to the same business? Or should I log them separately?
    2. I didn't make enough money to get a 1099 from Gruhub, so I don't have any information from them except the amount I was paid last year. Do I have to log another 1099-NEC for Grubhub (I don't have the tax number from them, so I'd need to figure that out), or can I just add this under my Other Income > Gross Receipts and Sales where I put my 1099-K income from Uber?

    These are good follow up questions,

    1. Schedule C is your opportunity to present your businesses as you see fit. It can be as simple as creating one umbrella-like business, combining all income and expenses on one Schedule C. Or, you can separate the three schedule Cs reporting separate incomes and expenses on each. The former makes record-keeping easier on you, the owner. The latter can show where a business is losing money for decision making. The reality is that all income and expenses are combined into one profit number that flows to the various forms and is reported as income or loss on your tax return.
    2. If you didn't receive a 1099-NEC, you can still report the income from Grubhub as Gross Receipts on the screen you mentioned in this reply following the decision for how to report in my answer #1 in my reply.
