About tax return

Hi, I'm an international student and the last time I got the tax return was $900 something ( my salary for a year is 9K something) But my friends say International Students cannot get too much like that. Maybe I did the tax return for the resident. Did I do wrong anything?

This depends on what kind of Visa that you have with the U.S. Some Visas require you to file your tax return as a resident alien. Please see this link for a description of each Visa by name and type. This is from the IRS website. You can check to see if you filed your return accordingly.
