generating a form 8606
I input my ROTH IRA contribution in the IRA Contributions interview screen. I am about to file my taxes but I don't see the Form 8606 in the draft. Is there a trick I am missing? If I can't get this to work can I just print the return and mail it with a form 8606 I completed from the IRS forms?

Hello abkiron2, and welcome to the FreeTaxUSA Community!
The form 8606 is used for tracking basis in Nondeductible IRA contributions, reporting conversions from a pre-tax retirement plan (Traditional, Traditional SEP or SIMPLE IRAs) to a post-tax retirement plan (Roth), and reporting distributions from Roth type accounts.
Making a ROTH contribution doesn't require a form 8606.

Free TaxUSA did not generate form 8606. I had distributions from simple IRAs with basis.
It did not even prompt me when I entered my distributions, for my nondeductible basis.

Form 8606 is also used when receiving distributions from simple IRAs with nondeductible basis.
FreeTaxUSA failed to generate my form 8606 and ignored the issue of nondeductible basis.
My other Tax software always generated form 8606 since I had to take RMDs and reduced the basis pro rata.

Please contact support from within your account for assistance troubleshooting. You might need to change an answer to one of the questions or enter an amount. Most likely you will need to go back through the "Retirement Income (1099-R)" and make sure that you complete all of the screens.
I haven't had any issues with the form 8606 generating when it was required.
