4013b rollover to traditional IRA

In 2025, after switching jobs I rolled over my 403b at my previous job to a new Traditional IRA at Charles Schwab. Will I need to wait for tax forms (1099-R or other) and will they be coming from the bank that held my 403b or from Charles Schwab. I did not take any distributions.

    Hi Shannon40,

It is very possible that you may not get a 1099-R if it was a qualified rollover. Contact the bank that held the 403b and find out if they are sending a 1099-R.

Direct rollovers from a 403b to an IRA will generate a 1099-R with a distribution code "G". The 1099-R will come from the company that serviced the 403b account. Since the rollover is not taxable, the form is more for your records—you do not need to report it on your tax return.
