How do i get my refund from Greendot
I have been waiting on my state refund for weeks now. I saw that it was issued on the 10th and if i didn’t receive it on the 10th day, to call to check the status of my refund. it has been 16 days and when I called, they told me that i did receive my refund but its not in the account i put in for it to be deposited into. I was told my money is a greendot account one that i never set up. And because i never set that account up, i don’t know how to get my refund from that account.

This whole situation is so frustrating and the fact that freetaxusa doesn’t even have a phone number for me to call and actually talk to someone to resolve this issue makes it even more frustrating. I hate having to go in circles just to talk to someone.

Our refund was deposited in a greenbot bank - and we don't have a greenbot account. We asked for the refund to go into the same account as 2023. How can FreeTaxUSA make this kind of a mistake? How do we get a refund now - it was deposited into this "fake" account.

It looks like if you wanted it to go onto a debit card you can use - greendot is who would have provided that.
And if you paid with your refund there is a bank that provides that service too, since freetaxusa is not a bank

I'm sorry to hear about the confusion with your state refund. This situation typically occurs when you chose to pay our filing fee with your refund instead of paying upfront with a credit card. If you selected that payment option, a temporary bank account is automatically set up with a third-party bank (through TPG, which was acquired by GreenDot). Here's how it works:
1. Your state deposits the refund into the temporary account with TPG/GreenDot
2. The filing fee is deducted from your refund
3. The remaining balance is then sent to your personal bank account that you providedYou can check the status of your refund once it has been sent to TPG here:
To view the personal bank account information you entered to receive your direct deposit, please sign into your account with us and then go to: Final Steps > Check Status/Print Return. Then click the "How will I get my federal refund?" line and then click the box to "Show Bank Account Information."
