Unable to upload consolidated 1099
Customer support keeps telling me to enter manually. I have 128 pages in my form and by the time I finish entering one by one, the tax deadline will be over. I keep getting the following error message when trying to upload form:
Yourfilefailed to import. Please upload the Consolidated 1099 provided by TRADESTATION.
Its a pdf document with 234KB size. I have cleared cache restarted computer, used different browser but FreeTaxUSA is persistent with this failure.
I thought I would give FreeTaxUSA a try but so far very disappointed with the software.

You don't need to enter everything. For your trading transactions, lump everything into four categories: Long-term, basis reported to IRS, Short-term basis reported to IRS, and the same for LT and ST basis not reported. Just include the total basis, the total proceeds, and the total of any adjustments.
If your consolidated statement also includes 1099-DIV, -INT, or other documents, you'll have to enter those too, but only one screen for each type of income.

Doesn't the 1099 have summary totals for all of the four categories (if applicable)? Just use those numbers. You're more likely to have mistakes when you upload.

Yes it has. I am coming from the TurboTax world, where they do everything automatically. I was just afraid that I will need to enter all those 100+ pages manually :)

Hi tbaloch,
Thank you for posting your issue in the FreeTaxUSA Community. Even though your consolidated 1099 is having issues and won't upload, there is a quick way to manually enter it by using the Summary totals for each section.
Here is an informative article explaining how to enter your 1009-B:
