I have to file through the mail this year because because my step daughter lives with us and his ex had a IP PIN number for her in the past. We have called, we have tried online. I dont think I will have time to get an appointment with a tax center in time to get a pin number now. What all do I have to mail in with my tax return? I dont want their to be issues when I send the papers in and I've never had to mail them before. Please and thank you.

First pages should be Form 1040. Make sure to sign and date where indicated - preferably with blue ink. Attach copies of any W-2s and W-2Gs, and any 1099-R forms that show Federal income tax withheld to the first page of the 1040.

After that, all of the schedules and supplemental forms. There's an "attachment sequence number" at the top of each page; use that to determine how to assemble. Attach any supplemental worksheets, documents, or schedules if applicable.

Keep a copy of everything you mailed in, including W-2s.

So plpretty much send anything I used to fill out my taxes I need to send a copy of? How does that work with e-filing then? Because they don't have all my documents?

Not sure what you mean. When you e-file, all of the same forms are transmitted electronically. Are you asking specifically about W-2s? When you enter your W-2 information into the software, it includes everything that's on the paper W-2. But there's no corresponding place to enter that information on the paper 1040 - just your total wages and withholding, etc. So you have to include the physical W-2s when you paper file.
