Paper filing required because I had no advance ACA insurance premium credits!?

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I never received any advance payments, so it shows $0 on my 1095-A. I know my income will be too high to get ACA subsidies; I don't need to reconcile or determine this on Form 8962. The problem is that FreeTaxUSA is saying I need to paper file because that number is "missing". (It changes $0 to a blank.) Support says it's an IRS rule, not a software problem.

Can I just say I didn't get ACA insurance or didn't get an 1095-A, whatever the question was, so no 8962 is generated? Can I enter a fake $1 in Column C and pay an extra $1 of tax?

    Hello lisae,

If you did not get a 1095-A, then you should answer 'No" on the first page of the ACA Health Insurance page, so that you skip that section. If you are still experiencing issues, I recommend that you contact Customer Support so someone can look at your account in detail.
