Bank debit didnt occur

Hi,

I owed federal tax and scheduled a bank debit for April 13th. Based on my account statement, the debit hasn't gone through. Should I wait for the debit to occur or cancel the request and pay IRS separately?

    I noticed that it said the bank debit would happen when the return was accepted. Have you seen that your return has been accepted yet?

    Yes, it was accepted on the 13th.

    Hi Shifu,

    The first thing you should do is make sure your banking information is correct on your FreeTaxUSA account on the Return Status page.

    We do know, from experience, that the IRS can take up to a week to process an online payment. Even after April 15.

    Check your banking information and then watch your bank account.

    Also, check with your bank. Ask if the IRS has attempted to take the money out.
