I have a situation pretty similar to this previous question I opened a new brokerage account in November 2025, and the only things I've done in that account are purchasing treasury bonds on the secondary market. As a result, I need to report the accrued interest I paid, but I have no coupon payments, interest payments, etc…
Hi, January 2025 deposited $8000 (50 and older) to 2025 Roth IRA. Due to increase in wages my magi is too high and I will contact vanguard this week and have $8000 plus earnings re-characterized as a new IRA. My concern, what steps must be taken to fill out taxes properly. It should be a simple process but the more I read…
I was also penalized by the IRS for not filing estimated taxes. Used FreeTaxUSA for number of years and I was not alerted to the fact that I should file estimated taxes even though my tax liability each year exceeded $1,000. I think this is negligent of them. It cost me $115.

However the IRS has no record of me filing my 2023 taxes even though I have a payment receipt from freetaxusa and was able to set up a payment plan though someone at the…
Is anyone on here using FreeTaxUSA to prepare other people's taxes? I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on how it works for you and your clients. I'm wondering how many returns I can file and if I would have to create a new account for each client? I'm hoping to prepare around 10 returns this year- mostly family, friends,…
