I'm a Maryland resident & I married my Minnesotan husband last year. Is my MD income taxable in MN?

I am a Maryland resident and I married my husband in June last year. I was never a resident in Minnesota even though we got married there. I was working full-time in Maryland during the whole 2024. Is my MD income then taxable in Minnesota since we are husband and wife? Note that my husband later moved to Maryland in October 2024 and he worked 9 months in Minnesota and 3 months in Maryland. We feel so confused because my husband's tax preparer is combining our income and taxing us in 2 states. It makes me feel that nothing was left to us and we are double taxed. I am not 100% sure if he is doing it correctly cause the other tax preparer I talked here in MD said the other guy is wrong. Please help.

    Hello carebear0615

Check to see whether your tax preparer included Schedule M1NR with your MN tax return.  Schedule M1NR is prepared whenever the taxpayer(s) is a part-year resident and/or non-resident and they need to allocate that portion of their total income that represents MN income.

Allocating MN income using Schedule M1NR should remedy the situation that appears to be happening in your case where MN is taxing income that is not subject to tax.
