IP PIN to efile 2023 taxes

Question

I see that I’m able to efile my 2023 return if I obtain an IP PIN. Does anyone know if only the primary taxpayer that’s doing the return needs to get one or does my spouse and dependent need one too?

Generally, if only you (the primary taxpayer) have an IP PIN, your spouse and dependent do not need one for the return to be accepted when filing a prior year return.  However, if your spouse or dependent had an IP PIN assigned to them (for a prior year), then you would need to enter those as well.
