If you try and do it under your name and password it delete your 1040 data.

As a follow-up to the post from JLFTUFreeForum, you will need to create a separate and unique account for your friend. You cannot use your existing account with FreeTaxUSA because as JLFTUFreeForum indicated in their post, any information you enter that relates to your friend will override your previously entered information.
In connection with creating a username and password for your friend’s account, keep in mind that FreeTaxUSA uses two-factor authorization for accounts.
With two-factor authorization, a code is sent to the customer’s phone number or email address on file. The code is entered into our software in order for our software to allow access to the customer's account. Because it appears you will be preparing your friend's tax return, you might consider using, at least for now, your own phone number and email address so that you can access the code more easily. At a later date, you, or your friend, could always change the account’s assigned phone number and email address if necessary.0
