Hello, I am at the end of my federal portion and haven't been asked to enter my 1095-C information. Is this normal? I have seen 1095-A for Market Place but not the normal 1095-C Please advise and thank you in advanced!
Hi, I just started a new FreeTaxUSA account to finish my extension. I wanted to compare last year to this year. Can I upload my return from another tax service and compare things? Thanks! P.S. I love the software, by the way!
Hello FreeTax Community, Like others, I too have received a 1099-K from eBay this year, whereas in previous years I have not. I am not a person who uses eBay as my business but one who sells items here and there throughout the year. The previous year was abnormally strong for sales so I breached the $5,000 limit that…
I purchased my primary home in 2024 and have one mortgage, but received two 1098 Mortgage Interest Statements. One from the Lender and Servicer. The Lender's 1098 seems to be for the Prepaid Interest and Points paid during closing, while the servicer's 1098 is my "regular" one. If I put in both 1098s, the system seems to…

Both federal (box 4) and state (box 16) were withheld. Where exactly do I enter a) the income b) the federal tax withheld c) the state tax withheld … please and thank you
I took a late RMD from the IRA, so I need to file Form 5329. Per the IRS instructions, I can request a waiver on the fee under the following circumstances: "The IRS can waive part or all of this tax if you can show that any shortfall in the amount of distributions was due to reasonable error and you are taking reasonable…
Is it possible to claim the copays for doctors visits and hospitalization as deductible out of pocket expenses when e-filing for Tax Return?
On the 1099-DIV form questions, there is a yes/no prompt: "Is this a mutual fund that has U.S. Government interest income?" I intend to answer "No." Is this correct? I filled in ordinary dividends (Box 1a), qualified dividends (Box 1b), and Section 199A dividends (Box 5). Everything else was 0. These amounts came from…
I'm a single member LLC. Just me. No employees. I opened a solo 401k for myself in 2023. From what I've been reading, I put my employee contributions under the "Deductions/Credits" section and "Enter your 2023 deductible contributions to your Keogh, SIMPLE, or other plan:" I haven't been able to find a solid answer for…
I have a 1099-misc form from the state of Oregon. This form is for the Oregon paid leave. The form leaves box 18 empty and FreeTaxUSA suggested using box 3 to fill it in. then when it asks to tell us about your income there isn't an option for paid leave. Should I select the other income? Thank you.
